Are you starving for quiet moments?

Warmth?

Solitude?

If so, I hear you. I see you. I feel you.

The world is in chaos. I don't think anyone has their head in the sand anymore. Pretty much everyone I talk to is awake to this fact. The ones that are not, are numbing out in other ways. But they are not denying the truth that's out there.

But here's the thing you need to hear. NO ONE is going to give you permission to pause. To take a break. To step quietly away from the madness to hear yourself breathe.

If you want to slow down. If you want to stop holding your breath for the next calamity. If you want to forget the world for a while, then you MUST give YOURSELF the PERMISSION.

Stop waiting for someone to offer it or ask you if you want or need it.

You do need it. I'm sure of it. Cause I need it too.

So, whatever you're doing right now, today, tonight, or this week...can you pause for 5 minutes and ask yourself: where do I need to slow down so I can find my joy again?

If you don't know how to find joy, I understand. I often feel that way too. But my advice, if you'd like it, is always the same.

Write about it. Honestly. Openly. Freely.

Get a good old-fashioned piece of paper and a pen, and sit down with a cup of coffee or tea and just write.

Don't hold back. Write not only the bad, but also the good. Write where you've been and where you'd like to go. Cry, vent, complain, but don't stop there. Write how it hurts, but also write the good too. What you've learned. What you'd like to feel. Who you'd like to be.

Then at the end write, "thank you for listening to me."

Keep the paper or throw it away. It doesn't matter. It's moved from your brain and landed somewhere. So you can let it go, and start over again.
